Grades 3-5
This tour focuses on the Valley Nisenan Maidu people and their relationship with the environment of the Sacramento Valley. The presentation includes a tour of the replica Nisenan Village and a brief explanation of the territory, language and populations of the Maidu. Natural resources and material culture will be explored trough hands-on replica artifact activity and a guided hike through the Nature Study Area.
Maidu Focus Nature Area Tour
Learn how the Valley Nisenan Maidu lived during this naturalist-guided tour of our replica Nisenan Maidu village and Nature Preserve trails, highlighting plant and animal resources traditionally used. Students will explore and interpret replica Maidu artifacts.

- Times: 9:15am – 11:00am OR 11:15am – 1:00pm
- $170 for up to 35 students
