Thirteen hundred people came to the Nature Center on October 6 for Nature Fest 2013. They joined us for an amazing variety of demonstrations and presentations, including Karuk and Maidu cultural demonstrations, fly fishing demonstrations; presentations on energy and water conservation, native plants, raptors and other native birds, snakes, bats, ethnobotany, frogs, mountain lions and bugs. Attendees could even make their own abalone necklaces, fishing lures and salmon hats.

EFFIE YEAW NATURE CENTER: Parkway Treasure is a nine-minute program about the history, mission, and programs of the Nature Center produced by volunteer and ARNHA Board member Linda Thomas. She spent four months capturing the sights and sounds of the preserve, interviewing preserve visitors, and highlighting Nature Center programs.
